It's what's goin' on... and more details by the minuteWe've been working hard to get some good stuff going for the spring and summer season including, but definitely not limited to: The Huntington Street Cafe Open Bluegrass Jam I was honored to be asked to host this summer's Open Bluegrass jam at the Huntington Street Cafe (in Huntington/Shelton, CT) which runs every Wednesday Night from May 19th through the entire summer until Labor Day. This is a place where anyone at any level of musical ability is welcome to come and sit in with some of the more seasoned players on the local scene. We want to nurture the bluegrass seeds that are surely being spread throughout Fairfield County. This is not an open mic (although you can get up to perform any songs you like), it is more so a jam environment to encourage folks to meet and participate in each others experience. We have a great time and would love to share an evening of great music with you! The Huntington Street Cafe is also one of the best spots in southern CT, receiving The Best of Fairfield County Weekly's award for best sandwich, best dessert, and one of the best music scenes, and a couple others too! You can come have a beer, salad, sandwich, pizza, glass of wine, pastry, coffee, or whatever you like while you listen to some good traditional american music! |

Podunk Bluegrass Festival That's right my friends, I have gotten the amazing opportunity to play at Podunk this year. If you can make it out for the weekend you will be very pleasantly suprised to find East Hartford as beautiful as one could wish for in festival-ing. Last year was my first going to this one, and it felt like I had stumbled across a gem. Del McCoury and Rhonda Vincent were two particulars that I was especially lucky to get to see so close up, watching Del perform on Saturday in the pavillion was like being at a very special family reunion. The whole weekend carried such a lucky sentiment, in the cool shade of the park, with music on the air... This year I will be playing with my buddies as Katie Wilson and the Two Time String Band, featuring Dick Neal on guitar, Bob Csugie on upright bass, Jordan Jancz on cello, Howie Bujese on fiddle (not pictured), and Josh Cohen on banjo. I hope you all will come out to spend the weekend this coming August, and if you do, be sure to check out our sets on Saturday evening at 8pm and Sunday afternoon at 3pm! PodunkBluegrass.net |
